X.com went down on March 10, 2025, leaving millions stranded without tweets, timelines, or trends.
X Blackout

It was supposed to be just another Monday. Instead, users worldwide logging into X were met with blank screens and error messages. Outage trackers flagged the first wave of reports at 6 a.m. ET, with over 20,000 complaints.
Cyberattack Theory
In an interview with Fox Business, owner Elon Musk he claimed X had been hit by a “massive cyberattack” and suggested the IP addresses traced back to Ukraine.
Later, once X was back online, Musk doubled down, posting that a “large, coordinated group and/or a country” was likely involved.

This isn’t the first time X has suffered under Musk’s leadership. After taking over in 2022, he slashed 80% of the workforce, enforced office returns, and restructured operations. The result? A platform plagued by glitches.
The outage couldn’t have come at a worse time for Musk. The same day, Tesla stock nosedived 15%, erasing its post-election gains. Meanwhile, a SpaceX rocket exploded in Florida, and political protests against Tesla ramped up.
By Monday afternoon, Musk declared X was back online. But the blackout left users questioning the platform’s stability.
