How do we guarantee that sentient AI&#8217;s actions align with human values, preventing it from harming humanity?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The path to AI self-awareness, is uncertain and currently seems like a <strong>crazy idea<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike the clear cause-and-effect of the biblical story, the development of AI is a complex, iterative process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-awareness may not emerge from a single breakthrough but from a gradual accumulation of capabilities. Alternatively, it might remain an elusive goal, forever beyond our reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon, AI might appear sentient, conversing subtly, creating, and even showing empathy.
